I promised myself I wouldn't make my next post in a political vein, but thanks to the Democratic Party (or certain members thereof), I had to do so.
Why?
I think this is truly cause for concern - for a nation.
I am sure by now you've heard Geraldine Ferraro's comments in the press. If not, hold on tight because here they are ...
"I think what America feels about a woman becoming president takes a very secondary place to Obama's campaign - to a kind of campaign that it would be hard for anyone to run against," she said. "For one thing, you have the press, which has been uniquely hard on her. It's been a very sexist media. Some just don't like her. The others have gotten caught up in the Obama campaign.
"If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position," she continued. "And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept."

This explicitly racist viewpoint (I am not sure you can describe it as anything BUT racist) comes to you live from a former Vice Presidential candidate.
Am I the only one that has a problem with this?
So where are we now? Two Democrats in an increasingly spiteful campaign ... that is now, by some politicos, being ever-so-slightly nudged (at this point anyways) down the road of "man versus woman" and "black versus white". Yes, a Democratic Party that is, once again, trying to give away a national election because it can't get it's house in order.
But wait, there's more ... the Democrat that is nominated gets to face the Republican candidate ... in a scheduled 10 round slugfest - and either way you cut it, it will AGAIN be "man versus woman" or "black versus white".
Martin Luther King must be rolling in his grave right now - 40 years later and at times little to show for his work in the public conscience.
Now returning to your regularly scheduled programming, already in progress ...
